Club Ethos

We've tried to capture the character of our club in a club ethos statement.

As many of us run to improve, we are always running with the aim to catch the person just in front but please be mindful as a runner in a club you are also responsible for looking out for the person just behind.

As a running CLUB we welcome members in all shapes and sizes.

We all like to run to get fit / stay fit / lose weight / compete / hit a goal – or just because it’s fun.

We celebrate each other’s achievements at whatever level.

RunTogether

HarpendenArrows and RunTogether

You may have heard the Run Leaders talking about 'RunTogether' and you may have even found our RunTogether Website at https://groups.runtogether.co.uk/arrowsrungroups

Whats going on here? Is that another club or the same thing?

There's an easy explanation...

The RunTogether framework is something put together by England Athletics (Harpenden Arrows is an affiliated club) to facilitate and promote people getting together to run in groups, led by run leaders.

We've adopted the platform to give us a way to organise and schedule some parts of our offerings as a club.

Specifically, we use the Run Leader App to book people onto our runs - like a sort of electronic register. Your Run Leader will ask your name and add you in, on the night. This gives the club a record of who is doing what and gives the Run Leader quick access to your emergency contact details, should that be needed.

Suggestions

What can we improve?

The club is run by a small management committee - all runners like yourself - but we don't necessarily know all the answers all of the time. There is a lot of stuff to do to keep the club working smoothly but if you have a suggestion for something new or to change something we'd love to hear it.

The committee meets regularly - about once a month - so if you'd like your idea discussed please feel free to summarise your thoughts in an email and send it off to our This email address is being protected from spambots.
