Outstanding Arrows success at the Herts County Veterans Cross Country Champs
The clocks sprung forward and the temperature dropped but that didn't deter 10 Harpenden Arrows from racing the Herts County Veterans Cross Country Championship.
The Trent Park course had a bit of everything, mud, technical trail, hard track, grass and included a long up the finish.
Everyone put in strong performances, supported each other, represented the club with pride and had a good laugh in the process!
The Ladies FV35 team comprising Hannah Turner, Isabel Green and Emma Hobbs romped round the 4 mile course in 1st place. Hannah didn't just collect a team cup but won the Ladies overall event in a blistering 26mins and 44 seconds. Isabel was 2nd FV35 lady with Emma two behind in fourth, both hugely credible results.
Anita White finished 4th in the FV45 category and Janie Morris, making her Arrows debut, was 2nd FV55 lady. An Arrows star in the making!
The Men also fared well. Paul Goodwin was the first Arrow home, he flew round the 9.6k course in 36mins 8secs missing third place by just 15 seconds. The MV50 team of Club Chairman Simon Speirs, David Russell, Steve Green & Mike Ashton collected medals for 3rd team.
