5k Handicap 2023

Monthly 5k Handicap

On the third Tuesday of the month (unless notified otherwise) we run a 5k handicap race. Its a lot of fun and because we start the slower runners off first the quick people have to work extra hard if they want to win. We meet at the club as normal but try to be a few minutes early so that we can work out your start time etc.

After the race we either have tea and cake or occasionally head down to the Engineer pub for a bite to eat and a well-earned drink. (You can come for/with cake/pub if you didn't run too.)

You can shower at St Georges if you wish.

We run on the Winter circuit from Sep onwards. Please wear high viz clothing. If you can't run please come along and help with the marshalling.

Results from 2022 see 5k Handicap

Pre-pandemic results see 5k Handicap

Club League 2020

2020 Club League - Final

Club League suspended for 2020 due to Covid-19

Welcome to the Arrows Club League.

The Club League is provided to give members a fun and interesting way of participating together and competing with each other in a friendly way. There are a few changes in races this year with the inclusion of some new events in favour of others which have proved less popular. We have also included the MWRRL races and adjusted some of the points you can earn in some of the events.

DOWNLOAD FULL DETAILS HERE

Members are encouraged to participate in League events for fun and to achieve their own running goals, but also to encourage and support their fellow Arrows.

Above all this is for FUN and to balance out speed with commitment!

We do not anticipate that anyone will compete in everything, and some events may not be taking place every year.

Results will be published throughout the race calendar to celebrate performance. Each year at the Club Annual General Meeting, the Committee will recognise achievements in this league with awards.

The rules will not normally be subject to change during year and additional races will not normally be added in during the year. Appeals or queries regarding your points should initially be raised with the League Manager via this email address.  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The Club Captains will be asked to recommend to the committee what actions to take in the event of extraordinary, unplanned circumstances. The committee ruling will be final.

NOTE: We will only accept your time if you have run under your own name.

We wish everyone a good year of running and hope that you enjoy the League.

Let the fun begin!

League Manager, the Captains and the Committee

Webmaster's note: We will publish the list of League events chronologically here Road in Red, Trail in Green

Club League 2023

Arrows Club League 2023

Welcome to the Arrows Club League.

We've decided to re-introduce our internal Club League in 2023 in a slimmed down and simplified format. It is provided to give members a fun and interesting way of participating together and competing with each other in a friendly way.

Members are encouraged to participate in League events for fun and to achieve their own running goals, but also to encourage and support their fellow Arrows.

Its a simple format this year with Arrows able to earn club league points for racing our external league events (XC and MWRRL) plus ONE nominated other race from each distance from 5k to Half Marathon. We've picked (mainly) the closest suitable event to try to encourage a large number of Arrows to attend our nominated races.

This year, 2023, there will be just one League (rather than Road and Trail) with men and ladies each competing for thier right to hold the shields for a year.
